About

I’m a portfolio manager at a hedge fund in New York. I will be writing in this blog about individual stock ideas, sectors, macroeconomic thoughts, and anything related to finance. To make this more useful to readers, I am going to tag posts with levels of difficulty: novice, intermediate, and expert. The levels of difficulty will try and give you an idea of how much financial jargon or math you may need to understand the given article.

I will try to update this site regularly with useful information for beginners and experts alike. If I have bothered to write an article about a stock, you can assume that I feel very strongly about it. Further, you can also assume that I have a position in my fund that takes advantage of the idea. I will not necessarily update the blog when I buy or sell a position.

I feel it is important for people to have a place to go where the financial information is reliable. I have utter disdain for Jim Cramer, Suze Orman, Larry Kudlow, the “pundits” and the media who have done nothing but cheerlead. They have done the public a dis-service. Here, it is my intention to give you unbiased information that guides my personal financial decisions. Over time, I hope to build a reputation as someone who is trustworthy and provides good advice.

If you feel that I have been helpful to you in any way, please don’t hesitate to “buy me a beer” on the homepage. Besides providing me with motivation for taking time out of my schedule to write, it will also help me see what, if any, value I have provided to you.

Good luck!
